U.N.C. Willmigton's Blair Bigwood scored 4:40 into overtime to beat the Fairfield University Stags, 4-3 (OT).

Bigwood had a great game for U.N.C. Willmigton, netting two goals.

Alec Roberson also scored for U.N.C. Willmigton. In addition, U.N.C. Willmigton received assists from Bob Sprankle and Kevin Mullaney, who contributed one a piece and Scott Edwards and Ryan Eng, who each chipped in two.

Fairfield University stifled U.N.C. Willmigton's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Stags kept U.N.C. Willmigton's goalie busy throughout the game, and Calvin Stone made 52 saves on 55 shots.

Fairfield University was led by Kevin Gavin, who racked up two goals. Gavin scored the first of his two goals at 9:50 into the second period to make the score 2-1 U.N.C. Willmigton. Michael Masters assisted on the tally. Gavin's next tally made the score 2-2 with 14:28 left in the third period. Patrick Sullivan provided the assist. Fairfield University also got a goal from Glenn LaFountain as well. Other players who recorded assists for Fairfield University were Matthew Viskovich and Christopher Joyce, who contributed one a piece.

U.N.C. Willmigton incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Ralph Dispigna recorded 21 saves for the Stags. Fairfield University incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
