Neumann University uses fast start to beat Southern Connecticut, 10-3Warwick Ice Rink 1 Fri, Nov 16, 2012 A four-goal first period deficit cost the Southern Connecticut Owls, which could not recover and fell to Neumann University, 10-3. Jeff MOrris was all over the ice for Neumann University, as he tallied four goals and one assist in the win. MOrris' first goal came 10:47 into the first period. He then added goals at 1:50 into the second, at 10:28 into the second, and at 15:54 into the third. Neumann University's offense rang up 32 shots on Southern Connecticut's net. Neumann University also got points from Connor McCanney, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Neumann University also had goals scored by Tim McCrane, who had two and Micheal Scarpone, Dan DeMarco, and Ryan Dreger, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Neumann University were Cody Roy, who had two, mike frei, who had three, and Andrew Scannella, Brian Murphy, and Mark Whitham, who each chipped in one. The Owls were helped by Matt Hickman, who registered one goal and one assist. Hickman scored 17:57 into the second period to make the score 8-3 Neumann University. Evan Turek assisted on the tally. Southern Connecticut also got a goal from Steven Rosenkrantz as well. In addition, Southern Connecticut received assists from Tyler Rose, who had one. Neumann University's starting goalie, Jeffery Radice, made eight saves and finished with the win before he was taken out in favor of Sean Fitzgerald, who stopped seven shots. Neumann University incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Mike Federico made 22 saves for Southern Connecticut on 32 shots.
