University at Albany falls to U.N.C. Willmigton after surprising comebackBay Arena Sat, Nov 03, 2012 U.N.C. Willmigton climbed out of a three-goal hole to beat the University at Albany Great Danes, 7-6. U.N.C. Willmigton let multiple leads slip away before eventually digging out of a three hole to pick up the win. U.N.C. Willmigton took a 5-4 advantage on a power play goal by Bob Sprankle at 17:02 in the second period. U.N.C. Willmigton found itself down 3-0 after University at Albany's Tyler Loughery put the puck home at 8:55 in the first period. After evening things up at 5-5 on a goal by Charlie Vanleuran at 9:06 in the third, U.N.C. Willmigton got the game-winner from Max Miller at 11:57 in the third period. Miller had a great game for U.N.C. Willmigton, netting two goals. The Great Danes were unable to stop U.N.C. Willmigton from sending pucks towards the net, and U.N.C. Willmigton eventually piled up 33 shots on goal. U.N.C. Willmigton bested its season scoring average. U.N.C. Willmigton averages 4.0 goals per game. U.N.C. Willmigton's defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals. U.N.C. Willmigton also got points from Sprankle, who also tallied one goal and one assist, Kevin Mullaney, who also registered one goal and two assists, and Blair Bigwood, who also had one goal and two assists.
