Penalties doom University at Albany against Farmingdale State in 6-2 lossBethlehem YMCA Sat, Oct 20, 2012 A rash of penalties cost the University at Albany Great Danes the game, as the Farmingdale State Rams netted four goals with a man advantage in a 6-2 win. Farmingdale State was led by Joe Kublbock, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Kublbock scored on the power play 8:01 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Farmingdale State. The Rams earned a power play opportunity when AJ Lamacchia was put in the box for hit from behind - game dq. Farmingdale State stifled University at Albany's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Great Danes were unable to stop the Rams from sending pucks towards the net, and Farmingdale State eventually piled up 40 shots on goal. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with four goals. Farmingdale State also got points from Scott Brennan, who also racked up one goal and one assist, Matthew Johnson, who also finished with one goal and one assist, and Mike Leprine, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Mark DeBernardo also scored for Farmingdale State. Other players who recorded assists for Farmingdale State were Alex Conover, Justin Von Wieding, and Kyle Catalano, who each chipped in one. University at Albany found itself short handed often, totaling 23 penalty minutes and allowing nine power plays. The Great Danes were helped by Ryan Mahoney, who grabbed one goal.
