Colorado Thunderbirds (MM) falls to Phoenix Jr Coyotes (MM) in overtime, 2-1 (OT)

Phoenix Jr Coyotes (MM) pulled out a 2-1 (OT) overtime victory over Colorado Thunderbirds (MM) on a clutch goal by Aaron Bland.

Bland had a great game for Phoenix Jr Coyotes (MM), netting two goals. Bland's tallies came on the power play at zero seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 Phoenix Jr Coyotes (MM) and 4:00 into the fourth to make the score 2-1 Phoenix Jr Coyotes (MM).

Phoenix Jr Coyotes (MM)'s Josh Erickson was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 43 saves and let only one puck past him. Erickson certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 3.08 entering the contest.

Phoenix Jr Coyotes (MM) stifled Colorado Thunderbirds (MM)'s power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Phoenix Jr Coyotes (MM)'s penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as Phoenix Jr Coyotes (MM) finished with 28 penalty minutes.

In addition, Phoenix Jr Coyotes (MM) received assists from Danny Kiraly, who had one and Clay Cross, who had two.

Phoenix Jr Coyotes (MM) was unable to stop Colorado Thunderbirds (MM) from sending pucks towards the net, and Colorado Thunderbirds (MM) eventually piled up 44 shots on goal.
