Ohio Blue Jackets (MM) penalty kill dominates in 4-1 defeat of LA Jr Kings (MM)

LA Jr Kings (MM) failed to take advantage of its power play opportunities and Ohio Blue Jackets (MM) shook off a number of penalties to win, 4-1.

Ohio Blue Jackets (MM) was sparked by Gianni Evangelisti, who registered one goal. Evangelisti scored on the power play 16:39 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Ohio Blue Jackets (MM). A slashing penalty on Zachary Dixon had put Ohio Blue Jackets (MM) on the power play. Jerad Rosburg picked up the assist.

Ohio Blue Jackets (MM) put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow LA Jr Kings (MM) to score on any of its six power plays. LA Jr Kings (MM) was unable to stop Ohio Blue Jackets (MM) from sending pucks towards the net, and Ohio Blue Jackets (MM) eventually piled up 38 shots on goal.

Ohio Blue Jackets (MM) also had goals scored by Mark Damante, who had one and Keifer Sherwood, who had two. Other players who recorded assists for Ohio Blue Jackets (MM) were Austin Pooley, Cameron Cristofoli, Clay Han, Timmy Thurnau, and Connor Sunkle, who each chipped in one.

LA Jr Kings (MM) was led by Storm Wahlrab, who scored the team's only goal. Wahlrab scored 5:16 into the first period to make the score 1-0 LA Jr Kings (MM). David MacGregor provided the assist.

Logan Davis rejected 21 shots on goal for Ohio Blue Jackets (MM). Ohio Blue Jackets (MM) incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Jon MANLOW recorded 34 saves for LA Jr Kings (MM). LA Jr Kings (MM) incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
