Helena rolls over Glacier, 8-0

The Helena Bighorns had a four-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to an 8-0 win over Glacier.

Helena was paced by Corbin Belling, who finished with one goal. Belling scored 7:00 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Helena. Logan Hawgood picked up the assist.

The Bighorns forced Glacier goalie Mitchell Tyson to work between the pipes, taking 83 shots. Helena was held back by its power play unit, which tallied one goal on nine chances.

Helena additionally got points from Theo Campe, who also tallied one goal and one assist, Christian Axelson, who also registered one goal and one assist, and Wyatt Winfield, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Parker Olson also scored for Helena. Other players who recorded assists for Helena were Brandon Rumble, Kyle Baker, Devin Smith, and Kevin Choi, who contributed one a piece and Damon Hanson and Logan Henne, who each chipped in two.

Glacier could not produce up to it normal offensive output. Glacier puts an average of 2.4 pucks into the net per game. Glacier was hit hard by penalties in the contest, and totaled eight minors and one major for 41 minutes in penalty time.

Alek Lazarski recorded 15 saves for the Bighorns. Helena incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Mitchell Tyson made 75 saves for Glacier on 83 shots. Glacier registered zero goals on two power play opportunities. Glacier ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Tucker Spooner was ejected from the game.
