Glacier vanquishes Billings in shootout, 5-4 (2-0 SO)

Sebastian Adnell scored the clinching goal in a shootout, and Glacier picked up the extra point in a 5-4 (2-0 SO) win over the Billings Bulls.

The shootout featured seven attempts between both teams. Glacier's other shootout goal was scored by Adnell.

Glacier saw a two-goal lead disappear, but was able to secure the win in a shootout. Glacier made the score 4-2 on a power play goal by Adnell at 4:22 in the third period. Billings evened things up at 4-4 on a power play goal by Alex Herman at 16:42 in the third period.

With four goals and two assists between them, Austin Givens and Adnell teamed up to power Glacier's offense. Givens had two goals and one assist and Adnell also notched two goals and one assist.

Glacier was often in penalty trouble, totaling 13 minors and one major for 51 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 36.0 minutes per game Glacier had been spending in the box. Glacier forced Bulls' netminders to work all game long, launching 38 shots and forcing 33 saves. Nic Wackerly made 19 stops and Taylor Kruiswyk made 14. Glacier outdid its season average for goals scored. Glacier averages 2.9 goals per game. Glacier had trouble converting on the power play advantage, managing just two goals on 12 chances.

Glacier additionally got points from Adnell, who also registered one goal and one assist. Glacier also got a goal from Brandon Vitale as well. In addition, Glacier received assists from Mason Meyer and Paul Kinder, who contributed one a piece and Jay Johnstone and Tucker Spooner, who each chipped in two.

Glacier was unable to stop the Bulls from sending pucks towards the net, and Billings eventually piled up 56 shots on goal. The Bulls could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 34 minutes in penalties during the game.

Billings was helped by Christopher Timm, who tallied two goals. Timm scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 8:48 into the second period to make the score 2-2. The Bulls earned a power play opportunity when Johnathon Walker was put in the box for head contact. Nick Rizzo picked up the assist. Timm's next tally on the power play made the score 4-3 Glacier with 10:26 left in the third period. Adam Wikingsson provided the assist. Other players who recorded assists for Billings were Ging Martin, Luke Bing, Stephen Thompson, and Jarrett Stark, who contributed one a piece.

Mitchell Tyson made 52 saves for Glacier on 56 shots. For Glacier, Kinder was ejected from the game. Billings registered three goals on 14 power play opportunities.
