McKibbon (C) nets hat trick, leads STONEY CREEK to 3-0 win over TORONTO

Sydney McKibbon (C) netted a hat trick to lead STONEY CREEK over TORONTO, 3-0.

McKibbon (C) notched her first tally 5:15 into the second period. He then added goals at 9:19 into the second and at 11 seconds into the third.

Taylor Cook spearheaded the defensive effort for STONEY CREEK, as she did not allow a puck past him and made 27 saves for the shutout. Cook certainly lowered her goals against average, which was 1.8 entering the contest.

STONEY CREEK put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow TORONTO to score on any of its five power plays. STONEY CREEK forced TORONTO goalie Liberty McKague to work between the pipes, taking 42 shots.

In addition, STONEY CREEK received assists from Devon Morrison, who had two and Teresa Horner, Caitlin Wallace, and Sarah Quaranta, who contributed one a piece.

TORONTO did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. TORONTO averages 3.1 goals per game. TORONTO could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 14 minutes in penalties during the game.

STONEY CREEK incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. McKague recorded 39 saves for TORONTO.
