BARRIE falls to WHITBY in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

WHITBY pulled out a 3-2 (OT) overtime victory over BARRIE on a clutch goal by Nicole Martindale.

WHITBY got the win with help from a great game by Martindale, who had two goals and one assist. Martindale scored the first of her two goals at 10:43 into the first period to make the score 2-1 WHITBY. Alex Moore picked up the assist. Martindale's next tally made the score 3-2 WHITBY with 15:26 left in overtime. Hailey Noronha provided the assist.

WHITBY managed to stay out of the box better than usual, finishing with one minor for two minutes in penalty time. WHITBY finished below its season average of 9.0 penalty minutes per game. WHITBY kept BARRIE's goalie busy throughout the game, and Lexi Brown made 38 saves on 41 shots.

WHITBY also got points from Noronha, who also had one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for WHITBY were Madison Badeau, who had two.

BARRIE managed to stay out of the box better than usual, tallying one minor for two minutes in penalty time. BARRIE wound up below its season average of 10.0 penalty minutes per game.

BARRIE was led by Justine Treadwell (C), who racked up two goals. Treadwell (C) scored the first of her two goals at 10:02 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Chelsea Tucker picked up the assist. Treadwell (C)'s next tally made the score 2-2 with 7:02 left in the first period. Paige Picard (A) provided the assist. In addition, BARRIE received assists from Emma Chown, who had one.

Marissa Kozovski made 14 saves for WHITBY on 16 shots. WHITBY registered zero goals on two power play opportunities. BARRIE registered zero goals on one power play opportunities.
