LEASIDE tried to dig itself out of a two-goal hole, but TORONTO held on for a 2-1 victory. TORONTO made the score 2-0 on a goal by Victoria Andreakos at 11:55 in the third period, and LEASIDE got as close as 2-1 when Kristen Lucas scored 19:10 into the third period. LEASIDE was stymied by TORONTO netminder Maggie Prince, who stopped 29 shots during the victory. Prince managed to improve on her goals against average, which stood at 1.92 prior to the game. TORONTO was led by Andreakos, who racked up one goal. TORONTO put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow LEASIDE to score on any of its four power plays. LEASIDE was unable to stop TORONTO from sending pucks towards the net, and TORONTO eventually piled up 37 shots on goal. Amanda Pantaleo also scored for TORONTO.
