BLUEWATER wins tough contest against BRAMPTON, 3-2

In a game where neither team could get a cushion, BLUEWATER escaped with a 3-2 victory over BRAMPTON.

Neither team gained more than a one-goal lead, and Kaila Pinkney's goal in the third period proved to be the difference maker.

BLUEWATER was sparked by Pinkney, who grabbed one goal. Pinkney scored 18:17 into the third period to make the score 3-2 BLUEWATER. Brooke Hartwick picked up the assist.

BLUEWATER kept BRAMPTON's goalie busy throughout the game, and Hanna Mandl made 34 saves on 37 shots. The defensemen of BLUEWATER were also effective in BRAMPTON's zone, and came away with two goals.

BLUEWATER also got points from Hartwick, who also tallied one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Stacey Henshaw also scored for BLUEWATER. Other players who recorded assists for BLUEWATER were Lauren Lefler, Karley Campbell, Emily Woodhouse, Taylor Philip, and Shailyn Waites, who each chipped in one.

BRAMPTON excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances. BRAMPTON found itself stymied offensively, and got off a mere 12 shots against BLUEWATER's defense.

BRAMPTON was led by Caitlyn Manning, who racked up one goal and one assist. Manning scored 14:58 into the third period to make the score 2-2. Janet Deane provided the assist. BRAMPTON also got a goal from Laura Magliocchi as well. More assists for BRAMPTON came via Shelby Dunn and Maizie Laking, who contributed one a piece.

Sasha Weekes made 10 saves for BLUEWATER on 12 shots. BLUEWATER incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. BRAMPTON incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
