SOUTHWEST almost clawed its way back from a three-goal deficit, but AURORA managed to pull out a 3-1 win in the end. AURORA led by three goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when AURORA's Lisa Donachey's scored at 2:03 in the second period to put AURORA up 3-0. AURORA was paced by Courtney Brindamour-McClure(A), who finished with one goal. Brindamour-McClure(A) scored 10:04 into the first period to make the score 2-0 AURORA. Ashley Rothon provided the assist. AURORA excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. AURORA also got points from Donachey, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. AURORA also got a goal from Kayla Jardine as well. More assists for AURORA came via Jacky Normandeau, Claudia Black, and Jessica Gillham, who each chipped in one. SOUTHWEST's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three AURORA power plays. SOUTHWEST was led by Erinn Noseworthy, who scored the team's only goal. Noseworthy scored 7:00 into the second period to make the score 3-1 AURORA. Krystin Lawrence assisted on the tally. Taylor Lemmon made 23 saves for AURORA on 24 shots. AURORA incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors. AURORA ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Jardine was ejected from the game. Hanna Slater rejected 26 shots on goal for SOUTHWEST. SOUTHWEST incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. |
