STONEY CREEK survives BARRIE comeback, wins 3-1

STONEY CREEK survived a determined comeback attempt by BARRIE on the way to a 3-1 win.

STONEY CREEK took a 3-0 lead during the second period, only to have BARRIE storm back on a Laura McKenzie goal 14:50 into the third period to pull to two goals down.

STONEY CREEK was led by MacAuley Carr, who had one goal. Carr scored 12:52 into the first period to make the score 2-0 STONEY CREEK. Olivia Atkinson picked up the assist.

STONEY CREEK excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. STONEY CREEK's offense rang up 44 shots on BARRIE's net.

STONEY CREEK also got a goal from Sarah Nurse (A) as well. More assists for STONEY CREEK came via Caitlin Wallace, Sydney McKibbon (C), and Madison Field, who contributed one a piece.

BARRIE's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five STONEY CREEK power plays. BARRIE's offense was handcuffed by STONEY CREEK's defensive play, and BARRIE managed only 12 shots on goal during the game.

In addition, BARRIE received assists from Alora Keers (A) and Courtney Sheedy, who each chipped in one.

Brittany Smrke recorded 11 saves for STONEY CREEK. STONEY CREEK incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. BARRIE's Sarah Stephens stopped 41 shots out of the 44 that she faced. BARRIE incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
