TORONTO uses early goal to top KINGSTON, 3-1

Breanne Wilson-Bennett scored the go-ahead goal in the first period, and TORONTO held off the challenges of KINGSTON in a tough 3-1 win.

A goal 42 seconds into the the first period by Wilson-Bennett proved to be the game winner, and powered TORONTO to the victory Emma Greco assisted on the tally.

TORONTO was sparked by Morgan Sly, who registered one goal. Sly scored 6:08 into the first period to make the score 2-0 TORONTO. Brooke Webster picked up the assist.

TORONTO forced KINGSTON's goaltenders to work without much rest, firing 47 shots and forcing 44 saves. Elizabeth Spinozzi made 42 stops and Jensen Murphy made two. TORONTO's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three KINGSTON power plays.

TORONTO also got a goal from Hannah Rastrick as well. In addition, TORONTO received assists from Audrey Potts, Rachel Bierbrier, Amanda Pantaleo, and Lauren Wildfang, who each chipped in one.

KINGSTON's offense was handcuffed by TORONTO's defensive play, and KINGSTON managed only 13 shots on goal during the game.

KINGSTON was led by Shelby Perry (A), who scored the team's only goal. Perry (A) scored 10:05 into the third period to make the score 2-1 TORONTO. Brianna Gaffney provided the assist.

Maggie Prince rejected 12 shots on goal for TORONTO. TORONTO incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. KINGSTON incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
