TORONTO rolls over SOUTHWEST, 7-1

TORONTO had a two-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 7-1 win over SOUTHWEST.

TORONTO's penalty kill excelled, as TORONTO gave up zero goals despite allowing six power plays.

TORONTO was sparked by Rachel Bierbrier, who finished with one goal. Bierbrier scored 1:25 into the second period to make the score 2-0 TORONTO. Breanne Wilson-Bennett picked up the assist.

TORONTO stifled SOUTHWEST's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. SOUTHWEST was unable to stop TORONTO from sending pucks towards the net, and TORONTO eventually piled up 35 shots on goal. TORONTO surpassed its usual scoring output this season. TORONTO averages 3.6 goals per game.

TORONTO also got points from Audrey Potts, who also registered one goal and one assist and Victoria Andreakos, who also had two goals and one assist. Others who scored for TORONTO included Jessie Eldridge (PU), who had one and Brooke Webster, who had two. Other players who recorded assists for TORONTO were Lauren Wildfang, who had two, Devon Moir, who had three, and Morgan Kelly, Breanne Grant, Emma Greco, and Jordan McDonell, who contributed one a piece.

Penalties took their toll on SOUTHWEST, as its penalty kill unit let in three power play goals.

SOUTHWEST was led by Dana Bryne, who scored the team's only goal. Bryne scored 3:38 into the second period to make the score 2-1 TORONTO. Tavia Maurovic provided the assist.

TORONTO's Maggie Prince stopped 19 shots out of the 20 that she faced. TORONTO incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Katrina Heyink made 28 saves for SOUTHWEST on 35 shots. SOUTHWEST incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
