BURLINGTON gutted out a close 4-2 win against LEASIDE.

Neither team gained more than a two-goal lead, and Logan Boyd's goal in the third period proved to be the difference maker.

BURLINGTON was sparked by Boyd, who grabbed one goal. Boyd scored 18:21 into the third period to make the score 3-2 BURLINGTON. Mellissa Channell assisted on the tally.

BURLINGTON forced LEASIDE goalie Alex Armstrong to work between the pipes, taking 34 shots.

BURLINGTON also got a goal from Lauren Patterson as well. In addition, BURLINGTON received assists from Becki Bowering, who had two and Melissa Goodwin, Tristyn Svetek, and Anita Paone, who contributed one a piece.

LEASIDE was helped by Megan Sullivan, who racked up one goal. Sullivan scored 6:54 into the first period to make the score 1-0 LEASIDE. Anthea Lasis provided the assist. Kristen Lucas also scored for LEASIDE. More assists for LEASIDE came via Kaitlin Lowy, who had one and Katrina Manoukarakis, who had two.

BURLINGTON's Kyra OBrien stopped 22 shots out of the 24 that she faced. BURLINGTON incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Armstrong rejected 30 shots on goal for LEASIDE. LEASIDE incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
