WHITBY rolls over WATERLOO, 5-1

WHITBY's Krista Yip-Chuck had a big offensive game, scoring one goal and contributing three assists in her team's 5-1 win over WATERLOO.

Yip-Chuck got on the board by slotting home a goal 2:36 into the first period to make the score 1-0 WHITBY. Hanna Bunton picked up the assist. Yip-Chuck dished an assist on Bunton's goal that made the score 3-1 WHITBY at 4:54 into the second period. He then added assists on Bunton's goal at 11:31 into the second and on Nicole Martindale's goal at 8:47 into the third.

WHITBY's Marissa Kozovski was a brick wall in net, as she came up with 28 saves and let only one puck past him. Kozovski managed to improve on her goals against average, which stood at 2.3 prior to the game.

WHITBY put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow WATERLOO to score on any of its seven power plays. WHITBY kept WATERLOO's goalie busy throughout the game, and Laura Deller made 33 saves on 38 shots.

WHITBY also got points from Bunton, who also registered two goals and one assist. In addition, WHITBY received assists from Rhyen McGill and Alex Moore, who each chipped in one and Hailey Noronha and Cassidy Vinkle, who contributed two a piece.

WATERLOO struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as it finished the game with 14 penalty minutes for seven opposing power plays.

WATERLOO was led by Dollee Meigs, who scored the team's only goal. Meigs scored 10:10 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Hannah Davidson provided the assist.

WHITBY incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
