Bay State wins tough contest against Tampa Juniors, 4-2NESC Marlboro Sat, Jan 05, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
Bay State and Tampa Juniors were evenly matched throughout their contest, but Bay State made the most of its opportunities and won, 4-2. Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Chris Duffy secured the win for Bay State with a goal in the second period. Bay State was sparked by Duffy, who racked up one goal. Duffy scored 19:03 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Bay State. James Klein picked up the assist. Bay State excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. Bay State forced Tampa Juniors goalie Nicholas Malvin to work between the pipes, taking 32 shots. Bay State also got points from Ty Gradwell, who also had one goal and one assist and Kevin Salvucci, who also tallied one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Ryan ODonnell also scored for Bay State. More assists for Bay State came via Shane Shiring, Matt Lison, and Nolan Culver, who contributed one a piece. Tampa Juniors found itself stymied offensively, and got off a mere two shots against Bay State's defense. Tampa Juniors was helped by Jared Goudreau, who grabbed one goal. Goudreau scored 10:50 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Tommy Whiteley assisted on the tally. Tampa Juniors also got a goal from Thomas Miller as well. In addition, Tampa Juniors received assists from Heinz Koster and Logan Garst, who each chipped in one. Bay State totaled 36 minutes in penalty time with three minors and two majors and went 1-for-1 on the power play. Bay State ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Ryan Cigile was ejected from the game. Tampa Juniors ended with 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major.
