Northern Cyclones AJ beats Atlanta Jr. Knights 5-3 as Bowen gets hat trick

Brian Bowen netted a hat trick to lead Northern Cyclones AJ over Atlanta Jr. Knights, 5-3.

Bowen got on the scoresheet 2:53 into the first period. He then added goals at 7:25 into the second and at 17:25 into the second.

Northern Cyclones AJ forced Atlanta Jr. Knights goalie Brandon Haase to work between the pipes, taking 38 shots.

Jack Jenkins also scored for Northern Cyclones AJ. In addition, Northern Cyclones AJ received assists from Jurgen Koster, Grant Gallo, Timothy Baylis, and Weston Moon, who each chipped in one.

Atlanta Jr. Knights' defense was uncharacteristically lax during the game. Atlanta Jr. Knights gives up 2.2 goals per game.

Atlanta Jr. Knights was led by Hunter Scott, who finished with two goals. Scott scored the first of his two goals at 10:58 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Atlanta Jr. Knights. George Gerasimou provided the assist. Scott's next tally made the score 5-3 Northern Cyclones AJ with -147 seconds left in the second period. Atlanta Jr. Knights also got a goal from Cody Stettin as well. More assists for Atlanta Jr. Knights came via Brent Wilcox, Jordan Landwehr, and Michael Farino, who contributed one a piece.

Josef Nilsson rejected 20 shots on goal for Northern Cyclones AJ. Northern Cyclones AJ incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Atlanta Jr. Knights' Haase stopped 33 shots out of the 38 that he faced. Atlanta Jr. Knights incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
