The game between the Quad City Mallards and the Bloomington Blaze was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Quad City emerged with a 4-2 win.

Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Mike Stinziani secured the win for the Mallards with a goal in the second period.

Stinziani had a great game for Quad City, netting two goals.

The Mallards put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Bloomington to score on any of its three power plays. Quad City's offense was helped by the efforts of its defensemen, who managed to put 13 shots on net during the game. The Mallards put 31 shots on net during the contest, more than the 24.9 they average per game.

Gabriel Boutin-Gagnon also scored for Quad City. In addition, Quad City received assists from Jason Kostadine, Obi Aduba, Mickey Lang, Patrik Levesque, Matt Boyd, and Mike Hellyer, who each chipped in one.

The Blaze forced Quad City goalie Neil Conway to work between the pipes, taking 33 shots.

Bloomington was helped by Matthew Larke, who racked up one goal. Larke scored 44 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 Bloomington. Travis Granbois assisted on the tally. Bloomington also got points from Jon Booras, who also tallied one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. More assists for Bloomington came via Steve Makway and Nicklas Lindberg, who contributed one a piece.

The Mallards' Conway stopped 31 shots out of the 33 that he faced. Quad City incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Pier-Olivier Pelletier made 27 saves for the Blaze on 30 shots. Bloomington incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
