In a game where neither team could get a cushion, the Missouri Mavericks escaped with a 4-2 victory over the Bloomington Blaze.

Neither team gained more than a two-goal lead, and Kenton Miller's goal in the third period proved to be the difference maker.

Missouri got the win with help from a great game by Miller, who had two goals and one assist. Miller scored the first of his two goals at 4:58 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Eric Meland picked up the assist. Miller's next tally made the score 3-2 Missouri with 2:42 left in the third period. Blake Forsyth assisted on the tally.

Bloomington was unable to stop the Mavericks from sending pucks towards the net, and Missouri eventually piled up 46 shots on goal.

Missouri additionally got points from Kellen Tochkin, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Missouri also got a goal from Evan Vossen as well. In addition, Missouri received assists from John-Scott Dickson and Sebastien Thinel, who each chipped in one.

By firing 29 shots on goal, the Blaze exceeded the 22.8 shots they average per game this year.

Bloomington was helped by David Gilbert, who racked up one goal. Gilbert scored 13:12 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Bloomington. Matthew Larke picked up the assist. Jon Booras also scored for Bloomington. More assists for Bloomington came via Travis Granbois, Brett Lutes, and Nicklas Lindberg, who contributed one a piece.

The Mavericks' Mathieu Corbiel stopped 27 shots out of the 29 that he faced. Missouri incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Ross MacKinnon made 42 saves for the Blaze on 45 shots. Bloomington incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
