The Bloomington Blaze relied on the sparkling performance of Pier-Olivier Pelletier in net to grab a 4-1 win against the Quad City Mallards.

Jon Booras was all over the ice for Bloomington, as he tallied two goals in the win. Booras' tallies came at 12:41 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Bloomington and on the power play 17:33 into the second to make the score 4-1 Bloomington.

The Blaze stifled Quad City's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Bloomington's offense was clicking better than usual and put 30 shots on goal during the game, better than the 22.0 shots per game it averages.

Bloomington also got a goal from Dan Barczuk as well. In addition, Bloomington received assists from Brett Lutes, who had two and Nicolas Rioux, Steve Makway, Travis Granbois, Matt Puntureri, and David Gilbert, who contributed one a piece.

The Mallards' offense operated below they season average. Quad City puts an average of 3.1 pucks into the net per game. By firing 33 shots on goal, the Mallards exceeded the 26.0 shots they average per game this year.

Quad City was led by Mike Hellyer, who scored the team's only goal. Hellyer scored 3:52 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Patrik Levesque provided the assist.

Pelletier rejected 32 shots on goal for the Blaze. Bloomington incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Neil Conway made 26 saves for the Mallards on 30 shots. Quad City incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors. The Mallards ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Anthony Perdicaro was ejected from the game.
