Rapid City had a four-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 5-1 win over the Bloomington Blaze.

Scott Wray was all over the ice for Rapid City, as he tallied two goals and two assists in the win. Wray scored the first of his two goals at 5:16 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Rapid City. Jesse Schultz picked up the assist. Wray's next tally made the score 5-1 Rapid City with 6:22 left in the third period. Damian Surma provided the assist.

Rapid City was led by goalie Tim Boron, who finished with 31 saves while allowing one goal. Boron certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 2.62 entering the contest.

Rapid City outdid its season average for goals scored. Rapid City has scored at the pace of 2.5 goals per game during the current campaign. Rapid City put 32 shots on net during the contest, more than the 21.7 it averages per game.

Justin Faryna also scored for Rapid City. In addition, Rapid City received assists from Kyle Peto, Jamie VanderVeeken, and Garrett Gruenke, who each chipped in one.

Bloomington did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Blaze put an average of 3.9 pucks into the net per game. Rapid City was unable to stop Bloomington from sending pucks towards the net, and the Blaze eventually piled up 32 shots on goal.

Bloomington was led by David Gilbert, who took four shots.

Rapid City totaled 21 minutes in penalty time with three minors and three majors and went 1-for-2 on the power play. Dan Dunn made 27 saves for the Blaze on 32 shots. Bloomington totaled 19 minutes in penalty time with two minors and three majors and went 1-for-3 on the power play.
