Huge game by Fisher boosts Ayr over Delhi, 8-4SOJHL Sun, Oct 21, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
Adam Fisher had four goals and one assist to lead the Ayr Centennials to an 8-4 victory over the Delhi Travellers. Fisher notched his first tally 6:16 into the second period. He then added goals at 14:47 into the second, at 1:08 into the third, and at 17:40 into the third.Ayr stifled Delhi's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Centennials' offense rang up 37 shots on the Travellers' net. Ayr's goal total was higher than its season average. The Centennials average 5.8 goals per game. Ayr additionally got points from Logan Beechey, who also registered one goal and one assist. Ayr also got a goal from Aaron Hosszu as well. Other players who recorded assists for Ayr were Jimmy Roy, who had two, Dustin Scheer, who had three, and Justin Plant, Syd Saunders, and Nathan Redford, who each chipped in one. Delhi struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as it finished the game with 38 penalty minutes for seven opposing power plays. The Travellers were led by Mike DeCoene, who racked up two goals and one assist. DeCoene scored the first of his two goals at 4:17 into the first period to make the score 1-1. DeCoene's next tally made the score 4-3 Delhi with 6:34 left in the second period. Derek Friesen provided the assist. Brad Ward also scored for Delhi. More assists for Delhi came via Taylor Hockley, who had one and Josh Bradshaw, who had two. Bobby Brown recorded 21 saves for Ayr. The Centennials incurred 28 minutes in penalty time with nine minors. Delhi's Nick Heath stopped 29 shots out of the 37 that he faced. The Travellers registered zero goals on five power play opportunities.
