Jude's goals lift Exeter to 6-3 victory over LucanSouth Huron Rec Centre Fri, Jan 18, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
Cam Jude was all over the ice for the Exeter Hawks, as he tallied four goals in Exeter's 6-3 win over the Lucan Irish. Jude notched his first tally 1:09 into the first period. He then added goals at 17:34 into the first, at 14:45 into the second, and at 17:34 into the second.The Hawks' offense rang up 39 shots on Lucan's net. Exeter's goal total was higher than its season average. The Hawks average 3.5 goals per game. Exeter could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 40 minutes in penalties during the game. Exeter also got a goal from Brodie Balcom as well. In addition, Exeter received assists from Zach Anderson, Cam Purdy, Kalvin Thornton, Chris Chapman, Hayden Cann, and Taylor Moir, who contributed one a piece and Mitch Wild and Ashton Waters, who each chipped in two. The Irish kept the Hawks' goalie busy throughout the game, and Colton James made 30 saves on 33 shots. Lucan had trouble converting on the power play advantage, managing just two goals on 10 chances. The Irish were led by Ben Lawton, who racked up one goal and one assist. Lawton scored short handed 15:56 into the second period to make the score 5-1 Exeter. Lucan played down a man on Jordan Vanderwel's cross checking. Mathew Smallman provided the assist. Mitch Smith also scored for Lucan. More assists for Lucan came via Keiron Cobban and Matt Curtis, who contributed one a piece. Exeter registered two goals on five power play opportunities. The Irish's Dylan Hoover stopped 33 shots out of the 39 that he faced. Lucan incurred 30 minutes in penalty time with five minors. For the Irish, Colin Hartwick was ejected from the game.
