Tavistock blows out Norfolk, 8-2

The Tavistock Braves had a three-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to an 8-2 win over the Norfolk Rebels.

Curtis Dotzert was all over the ice for Tavistock, as he tallied two goals and one assist in the win. Dotzert scored the first of his two goals at 7:26 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Tavistock. Dylan Yantzi provided the assist. Dotzert's next tally made the score 8-2 Tavistock with 35 seconds left in the third period. Charlie Irwin assisted on the tally.

The Braves made Norfolk's goalies to work all game long, firing 43 shots and forcing 35 saves. Jason Pachieko made 11 stops and Jason Miller made 24. Tavistock's goal total was higher than its season average. The Braves have scored at the pace of 3.9 goals per game during the current campaign.

Tavistock also got points from Jordan Ritsma, who also finished with two goals and one assist and Yantzi, who also registered one goal and one assist. Tavistock also got a goal from Charlie Malson as well. In addition, Tavistock received assists from Matthew Lupton, Nick Quehl, Mack Gingerich, Andrew Schacht, Chris Newcombe, and Jake Mock, who contributed one a piece.

The Rebels were led by Steve Parker, who registered one goal. Parker scored 12:32 into the first period to make the score 3-1 Tavistock. Kurtis Pettitt provided the assist. Brayden Dickinson also scored for Norfolk. More assists for Norfolk came via Clayton Charot and Michael Almas, who each chipped in one.

Tavistock's Tim Parker stopped 26 shots out of the 28 that he faced. The Braves incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Norfolk incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
