Burford downs Delhi in overtime, 6-5 (OT)

The Burford Bulldogs' Tyler MacLaughlin scored 4:34 into overtime to beat the Delhi Travellers, 6-5 (OT).

Burford came back from a three-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Bulldogs fell behind 3-0 after a goal by Delhi's Taylor Hockley at 7:44 in the first period. Burford knotted things up at 5-5 on a power play goal by MacLaughlin at 15:36 in the third period.

The the Bulldogs penalty box was a popular destination as the team totaled eight minors and one major for 31 minutes in penalty time. Burford had been averaging 25.0 minutes in penalties per game.

Burford additionally got points from Adam Harris, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Pat Bates also scored for Burford. In addition, Burford received assists from Tyler Vandenbussche and Scott Pennwarden, who contributed one a piece and Tim Berberian and Tommy Smith, who each chipped in two.

The Travellers racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with eight minors and one major for 31 minutes in penalty time. Delhi surpassed its season average of 19.0 penalty minutes per game. The Travellers kept the Bulldogs' goalie busy throughout the game, and Ben Beechey made 29 saves on 34 shots.

Delhi was led by Josh Bint, who racked up two goals. Bint scored the first of his two goals at 5:00 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Delhi. Kelsey Vanyermen assisted on the tally. Bint's next tally made the score 2-0 Delhi with 13:39 left in the first period. Colin Streutker picked up the assist. Delhi also got points from Cody Stout, who also had one goal and one assist. Delhi also got a goal from Jordan Betzold as well. Other players who recorded assists for Delhi were Jared Ebdon and Michael Thomlison, who contributed one a piece.

Burford registered two goals on six power play opportunities. For the Bulldogs, Pennwarden was ejected from the game. Nick Heath rejected 24 shots on goal for the Travellers. Delhi registered one goal on eight power play opportunities. Team's Josh Bradshaw and Stout were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game.
