Bond's hat trick boosts Lucan over Mt.Brydges, 8-2

Cam Bond lifted the Lucan Irish to an 8-2 victory with a hat trick against the Mt.Brydges Bulldogs.

Bond got on the scoresheet 14:04 into the first period. He then added goals at 2:09 into the second and at 11:19 into the third.

Mt.Brydges trailed by one after the first period, but Lucan went into the second intermission with a 6-2 lead and never looked back.

The Irish's penalty kill excelled, as Lucan gave up one goal despite allowing 11 power plays.

The Irish kept the Bulldogs' goalie busy throughout the game, and Eric Steinman made 39 saves on 47 shots. Lucan surpassed its usual scoring output this season. The Irish average 4.3 goals per game. Lucan could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 56 minutes in penalties during the game.

Lucan also got points from Keiron Cobban, who also grabbed two goals and two assists and Dylan Moss, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Fraser Lewis also scored for Lucan. In addition, Lucan received assists from Nick Moniz, who had two, Dylan Murray, who had three, and Colin Hartwick and Mathew Smallman, who contributed one a piece.

The Irish were unable to stop Mt.Brydges from sending pucks towards the net, and the Bulldogs eventually piled up 37 shots on goal.

Mt.Brydges was helped by Matt Dacosta, who racked up one goal. Dacosta scored on the power play 1:25 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Mt.Brydges. The Bulldogs had gotten the advantage when Lucan's Moss was sent off for charging. Ryan Battersby picked up the assist. Mt.Brydges also got a goal from Spencer Wilson as well. Other players who recorded assists for Mt.Brydges were Sean Candler, who had two.

Joseph Frustaglio rejected 35 shots on goal for the Irish. Lucan registered two goals on four power play opportunities. For the Irish, Hartwick was ejected from the game. Mt.Brydges incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors.
