Dorchester squeaks by Port Stanley, 4-3

The game between the Dorchester Dolphins and the Port Stanley Sailors was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Dorchester emerged with a 4-3 win.

No lead was more than one goal during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Brendon O Shaughnessy at 16:29 of the third period.

The Dolphins were sparked by O Shaughnessy, who racked up one goal and one assist.

Dorchester kept Port Stanley's goalie busy throughout the game, and Brandon Garner made 30 saves on 34 shots. The Dolphins' penalty kill unit could not stop the Sailors' power play, which converted on two of three opportunities.

Dorchester additionally got points from Jacob Baribeau, who also registered one goal and one assist and Bryan McCauley, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Shayne Rhyno also scored for Dorchester. More assists for Dorchester came via Tommy Prokes, who had one and Matt Cormier and Chad Brulotte, who each chipped in two.

Port Stanley struggled on the penalty kill, allowing Dorchester to score three power play goals on four chances.

The Sailors were helped by Tyler Beaulieu, who had one goal. Beaulieu scored 13:34 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Luke McGuire picked up the assist. Port Stanley also got a goal from Andrew Yurek as well. Other players who recorded assists for Port Stanley were Tyson Corkum, who had one and Mark Brisson, who had two.

The Dolphins' Alex Hutcheson stopped 27 shots out of the 30 that he faced. Dorchester ended with 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major. For the Dolphins, Rhyno was ejected from the game. Port Stanley ended with 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major. The Sailors ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Derek Finlay was ejected from the game.
