Ayr's Kaster deadly on offense in 6-3 win against Tavistock

The Ayr Centennials relied on the scoring touch of Declan Kaster, who netted two goals, to beat the Tavistock Braves, 6-3.

Kaster found the back of the net 2:45 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Ayr and again while 19:52 into the first to make the score 4-1 Ayr.

Ayr was often in penalty trouble, totaling seven minors and two majors for 64 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 29.0 minutes per game the Centennials had been spending in the box. Ayr made Braves' netminders to work all game long, finishing with 36 shots and forcing 30 saves. Tim Parker made 15 stops and Taylor VanBockel made 15.

Ayr additionally got points from Jordan Eby, who also registered one goal and one assist and Brandon Christopher, who also had one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Ayr also got a goal from Adam Fisher as well. Other players who recorded assists for Ayr were Nick Hirs, who had two and Andrew Richard, Ben Poort, Alex Richard, and Mike McKnight, who contributed one a piece.

Team could not crack the Centennials' penalty kill and was held to two power play goals while having 14 opportunities to play with the man advantage. Tavistock could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 62 minutes in penalties during the game.

The Braves were led by Deven Kropf, who racked up one goal and one assist. Kropf scored 9:34 into the second period to make the score 4-2 Ayr. Josh Wagler picked up the assist. Tavistock also got points from Andrew Schacht, who also racked up one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Charlie Malson also scored for Tavistock. More assists for Tavistock came via James McCorquodale, who had one.

Mitch Figueirdo rejected 17 shots on goal for Ayr. The Centennials registered three goals on eight power play opportunities. Team's Richard and Eby were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game.
