The Exeter Hawks tried their best to erase a two-goal deficit, but the Port Stanley Sailors would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 3-2. Port Stanley made the score 3-1 on a goal by Tyler Beaulieu at 15:58 in the third period, and Exeter got as close as 3-2 when Cam Jude scored 18:29 into the third period. The Sailors were paced by Beaulieu, who tallied one goal. Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 16:58 into the third period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts. Port Stanley excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. The Hawks were unable to stop the Sailors from sending pucks towards the net, and Port Stanley eventually piled up 37 shots on goal. Derek Finlay also scored for Port Stanley. More assists for Port Stanley came via Findley Brandon, who had two and Drew Eaton, Luke McGuire, Mark Fraser, and Tyson Corkum, who contributed one a piece. Exeter kept the Sailors' goalie busy throughout the game, and Brandon Garner made 37 saves on 39 shots. Exeter also got a goal from Dylan Bedard as well. In addition, Exeter received assists from Kalvin Thornton, Mitch Wild, and John Kingma, who each chipped in one. Port Stanley totaled 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 1-for-4 on the power play. For the Sailors, Austin Blais was ejected from the game. Colton James rejected 34 shots on goal for the Hawks. Exeter ended with 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major. The Hawks ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Ryan Consitt was ejected from the game.
