Mt.Brydges downs Lambeth, 5-2

Grant Johns had one point to lead the Mt.Brydges Bulldogs to a 5-2 victory over the Lambeth Lancers.

Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 11:45 into the second period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts.

Mt.Brydges kept Lambeth's goalie busy throughout the game, and JP Trudell made 29 saves on 34 shots.

Mt.Brydges also got points from Tony Lindner, who also registered one goal and one assist. Mt.Brydges also got a goal from Spencer Wilson as well. More assists for Mt.Brydges came via Sean Candler, who had three and Eric Steinman and Ryan Battersby, who contributed one a piece.

The Lancers racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with five minors and two majors for 30 minutes in penalty time. Lambeth had been averaging 27.0 minutes in penalties per game. The Lancers did not reach the goal total they have come to expect this season. Lambeth puts an average of 5.1 pucks into the net per game. The Lancers' normally stingy defense allowed more goals than usual. Lambeth gives up 2.5 goals per game.

The Lancers were helped by Brandon Robbins, who racked up one goal. Robbins scored 39 seconds into the third period to make the score 2-0 Lambeth. Warren Hargraves picked up the assist. Nick West also scored for Lambeth. In addition, Lambeth received assists from Mike Golinowski, who had one.

Steinman rejected 26 shots on goal for the Bulldogs. Mt.Brydges totaled 24 minutes in penalty time with two minors and two majors and went 2-for-4 on the power play. Team's Connor Knapman and Sam MacGee were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game. Lambeth registered zero goals on one power play opportunities. For the Lancers, Mitch Furlonger and Dale Morningstar were ejected from the contest.
