Huge game by Fisher boosts Ayr over Norfolk, 6-3SOJHL Sun, Dec 16, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
The Ayr Centennials' Adam Fisher had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing one assist in his team's 6-3 win over the Norfolk Rebels. Fisher's tallies came at 5:45 into the third period to make the score 4-2 Ayr and on the power play 11:32 into the third to make the score 5-2 Ayr.Norfolk's power play was ineffective against Ayr's penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded. Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 4:41 into the third period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts. The Centennials put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Rebels to score on any of their seven power plays. Ayr's offense rang up 63 shots on Norfolk's net. Ayr also got points from Alex Richard, who also racked up two goals and one assist to lead the team in points. Ayr also got a goal from Andrew Richard as well. Other players who recorded assists for Ayr were Declan Kaster, Hunter Moore, and Alex Bogojevski, who each chipped in one and Jordan Eby and Zack Taylor, who contributed two a piece. The Rebels were helped by Kevin Mummery, who registered one goal. Mummery scored 19:32 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Kurtis Pettitt picked up the assist. Norfolk additionally got points from Chris Murray, who also finished with one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Steve Parker also scored for Norfolk. More assists for Norfolk came via Nate Parker, Ryan Oatway, and Jason Miller, who each chipped in one. Bobby Brown recorded 25 saves for the Centennials. Ayr totaled 19 minutes in penalty time with seven minors and one major and went 2-for-5 on the power play. For the Centennials, Nathan Redford was ejected from the game. Norfolk's Miller stopped 57 shots out of the 63 that he faced. The Rebels ended with 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major. Norfolk ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Mummery was ejected from the game.
