Thamesford blows out North Middlesex, 6-0

The Thamesford Trojans had a five-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 6-0 win over the North Middlesex Stars.

Thamesford put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow North Middlesex to score on any of its four power plays.

The Trojans were led by Justin Cooper, who grabbed two goals and two assists. Cooper scored the first of his two goals at 14:10 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Thamesford. Judson Couture provided the assist. Cooper's next tally made the score 5-0 Thamesford with 9:45 left in the second period. Thamesford additionally got points from Couture, who also finished with one goal and one assist, Dylan Black, who also registered one goal and two assists, and Mitch Davies, who also had one goal and one assist. Thamesford also got a goal from Jake Tierney as well. In addition, Thamesford received assists from Brandyn Di Domenico, who had two.

The Stars were held below their usual level of production. North Middlesex averages 2.8 goals per game. The Stars could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 46 minutes in penalties during the game.

Grayson Templeman rejected 16 shots on goal for Thamesford. The Trojans incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Bobby Raine recorded 22 saves for North Middlesex.
