JJ Haroland gave the Burford Bulldogs a 6-5 (OT) victory over the Norfolk Rebels when he scored 4:56 into the extra period.

Burford nearly gave up a two-score lead. The Bulldogs made the score 5-3 on a goal by Tyler Vandenbussche at 3:55 in the third period. Norfolk pulled to within 5-4 on a goal by Kevin Mummery at 15:40 in the third period.

Burford put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Rebels to score on any of their five power plays. Norfolk was unable to stop the Bulldogs from sending pucks towards the net, and Burford eventually piled up 47 shots on goal.

Burford also got points from Tyler MacLaughlin, who also had one goal and one assist. Burford also got a goal from Peter Janeck as well. In addition, Burford received assists from Andrew Schunk, who had two and Kyle Chaney, Pat Bates, Guy Polillo, Tim Berberian, and Jesse Brooks, who contributed one a piece.

The Rebels bested their season scoring average. Norfolk has scored at the pace of 2.1 goals per game during the current campaign.

Norfolk additionally got points from Nate Parker, who also registered one goal and one assist and Chris Murray, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Drew Moore also scored for Norfolk. Other players who recorded assists for Norfolk were Alex Tipping, Tyler Jones, and Andrew Patenaude, who each chipped in one and Steve Parker and Joshua Slegers, who contributed two a piece.

Ben Beechey rejected 23 shots on goal for the Bulldogs. Burford incurred 36 minutes in penalty time with three minors. Alex Tipping made 41 saves for the Rebels on 47 shots. Norfolk incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors.
