Dorchester survives North Middlesex comeback, wins 7-5

The Dorchester Dolphins, who led by three goals at one point, survived a comeback attempt by Dorchester and clinched a 7-5 victory.

The Dolphins led by three goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when Dorchester's Chad Brulotte's scored at 11:27 in the second period to put the Dolphins up 5-2.

Liam Gillooly and Jacob Baribeau provided the spark for Dorchester, combining for two goals and four assists. Gillooly tallied two goals and Baribeau also added zero goals and four assists.

The Dolphins forced the North Middlesex Stars goalie Bobby Raine to work between the pipes, taking 41 shots. Dorchester outdid its season average for goals scored. The Dolphins average 4.6 goals per game. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.

Matt Johnson also scored for Dorchester. Other players who recorded assists for Dorchester were Shayne Rhyno, who had two and Chris Buckholz and Patrick Freel, who contributed one a piece.

North Middlesex put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Dorchester to score on any of its six power plays. The Stars bested their season scoring average. This season, North Middlesex averages 2.9 goals per contest.

The Stars were led by Ben Lawton, who grabbed two goals and two assists. Lawton scored the first of his two goals at 1:24 into the third period to make the score 5-3 Dorchester. Josh DenOtter picked up the assist. Lawton's next tally made the score 6-5 Dorchester with 4:33 left in the third period. Brady Smith (APM) provided the assist. North Middlesex also got points from DenOtter, who also finished with one goal and two assists. North Middlesex also got a goal from Mike Sharpe as well. More assists for North Middlesex came via Mack Graham and Greg Masschelein, who each chipped in one.

Jake Fonti made 17 saves for the Dolphins on 22 shots. Dorchester incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Raine rejected 34 shots on goal for North Middlesex. The Stars incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors.
