Hagersville rolls over Burford, 8-4Burford Community Centre Sun, Dec 02, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
The Hagersville Hawks were firing on all cylinders against the Burford Bulldogs, and when the final buzzer sounded Hawks emerged with an 8-4 win. Hagersville got the win thanks to a great game by Derek Medeiros, who had one goal and two assists. Medeiros scored 4:00 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Hagersville. Nick Halliday provided the assist. Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 10:45 into the third period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts. The Hawks kept Burford's goalie busy throughout the game, and Don Davis made 39 saves on 47 shots. Hagersville found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. The Hawks average 5.1 goals per game. Hagersville also got points from Deacan Krause, who also had one goal and one assist, Jesse Ross, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, and Hayden Baird, who also finished with one goal and two assists. Hagersville also had goals scored by Kyle Parsons, who had one and Cole Martin, who had three. Other players who recorded assists for Hagersville were Brad Hornby, who had one and Marshall Greenham and Mitch Green, who each chipped in two. The Bulldogs were helped by Matt Cartmel, who registered one goal and one assist. Cartmel scored 18:22 into the second period to make the score 5-3 Hagersville. Nick Longhurst assisted on the tally. Burford additionally got points from Kyle Chaney, who also tallied one goal and one assist. JJ Haroland also scored for Burford. More assists for Burford came via Tyler MacLaughlin, who had two and Tommy Smith and Peter Janeck, who contributed one a piece. Matt Murphy made 20 saves for Hagersville on 24 shots. Hagersville ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Parsons was ejected from the game. Burford totaled 33 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 1-for-2 on the power play. For the Bulldogs, Adam Harris was ejected from the game.
