Norwich survives penalties, beats Thamesford, 7-1

The Thamesford Trojans failed to take advantage of their power play opportunities and Norwich shook off a number of penalties to win, 7-1.

Norwich was led by Drake Morrell, who finished with one goal. Morrell scored 2:45 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Norwich. Tom Brady provided the assist.

Thamesford was unable to stop Norwich from sending pucks towards the net, and Norwich eventually piled up 37 shots on goal. Norwich excelled on the penalty kill, only allowing the Trojans to get one power play goal on 11 chances.

Norwich additionally got points from Brady, who also had one goal and one assist, Zach Couwenberg, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, Zack Morrison, who also had one goal and one assist, Ryan Stephenson, who also registered one goal and one assist, and Jon Percival, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Brett Parsons also scored for Norwich. More assists for Norwich came via Jesse Cave, Jakob Schira, Gus Ford, Brandon Zimmermann, and Brenden Schreider, who each chipped in one.

Thamesford did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Trojans put an average of 4.9 pucks into the net per game.

Thamesford was led by Beau Diloreto, who scored the team's only goal. Diloreto scored on the power play 3:00 into the third period to make the score 3-1 Norwich. The Trojans earned a power play opportunity when Zach Core was put in the box for high sticking. James Toye assisted on the tally.

Trevor Fleming made 24 saves for Norwich on 25 shots. Norwich incurred 24 minutes in penalty time with 12 minors. James Champagne rejected 30 shots on goal for Thamesford. The Trojans ended with 17 minutes in penalty time with six minors and one major. For Thamesford, Judson Couture was ejected from the game.
