Dorchester outlasts Mt.Brydges, 5-3

In a game where neither team could get a cushion, the Dorchester Dolphins escaped with a 5-3 victory over the Mt.Brydges Bulldogs.

No lead was more than two goals during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Liam Gillooly at 7:41 of the second period.

Dorchester got the win thanks to a great game by Matt Cormier, who had one goal and two assists. Cormier scored 18:29 into the second period to make the score 4-2 Dorchester. Brady Veroughstraete provided the assist.

The Dolphins pulled out the victory even though they were hit with 10 penalty minutes.

Dorchester excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances. The Dolphins kept Mt.Brydges' goalie busy throughout the game, and Alexander Markowski made 43 saves on 48 shots.

Dorchester also got a goal from Tyler Vere as well. In addition, Dorchester received assists from Matt Johnson, who had two and Jeff Risdon, Brett VanDusen, and Tyler Schruder, who contributed one a piece.

Dorchester was unable to stop the Bulldogs from sending pucks towards the net, and Mt.Brydges eventually piled up 37 shots on goal.

The Bulldogs were helped by Jeremy Denomme, who finished with one goal. Denomme scored 9:57 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Mt.Brydges. Mike Frizzell picked up the assist. Sean Candler also scored for Mt.Brydges. Other players who recorded assists for Mt.Brydges were Connor Dunn, who had one and David Wade, who had two.

The Dolphins' Alex Hutcheson stopped 34 shots out of the 37 that he faced. Dorchester registered zero goals on two power play opportunities. Mt.Brydges incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
