Dunnville downs Norfolk in overtime, 6-5 (OT)

Dunnville pulled out a 6-5 (OT) overtime victory over the Norfolk Rebels on a clutch goal by Drew Harrison.

Dunnville came back from a four-goal deficit to capture the victory. Dunnville was down 5-1 after a goal by Norfolk's Ryan Oatway at 17:43 in the first period. Dunnville knotted things up at 5-5 on a goal by Hayden Molen at 11:45 in the third period.

The Rebels' power play was ineffective against Dunnville's penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded.

Dunnville kept Norfolk's goalie busy throughout the game, and Jason Miller made 45 saves on 51 shots. Team could not crack the Rebels' penalty kill and was held to two power play goals while having 10 opportunities to play with the man advantage. Dunnville got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.

Dunnville also got points from Steven Czepek, who also finished with one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Dunnville also got a goal from Andrew McMurtrie as well. In addition, Dunnville received assists from Mark Topp AP, who had two and Damien Lalonde, Travis Sheldrake, Landon Minor, Luke Rowe, Tyler Springer, and Mack Steele, who contributed one a piece.

Norfolk's goal total was higher than its season average. The Rebels average 2.2 goals per game. Norfolk was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 28 penalty minutes.

The Rebels were led by Chris Murray, who grabbed one goal and two assists. Murray scored 4:47 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Norfolk. Kurtis Pettitt picked up the assist. Norfolk additionally got points from Pettitt, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Tyler Jones also scored for Norfolk. More assists for Norfolk came via Steve Parker, Kent Wardell, and Dylan Cole, who each chipped in one.

Dunnville took out Dusytn Baker after he had made seven saves and installed Josh Rosettani in goal, where he finished with 10 saves and the win. Dunnville incurred 24 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
