Hagersville erases deficit to stun Tavistock, 3-2Tavistock Fri, Nov 16, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
Undaunted by a two-goal deficit, the Hagersville Hawks battled back to claim a 3-2 victory over the Tavistock Braves. Hagersville never led in the game until netting the game winner. The Hawks fell behind 2-0 after a goal by Tavistock's Charlie Malson at 1:20 in the second period. Hagersville knotted things up at 2-2 on a power play goal by Brad Hornby at 16:15 in the second period. The Hawks got the game winner short handed at 17:58 in the third period on a goal by Hornby. Derek Medeiros was all over the ice for Hagersville, as he tallied two goals and one assist in the win. Medeiros scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 11:59 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Tavistock. The Hawks had taken the advantage when the Braves' Garrett Fisher got sent off for kneeing. Hornby assisted on the tally. Medeiros' next tally on the power play made the score 3-2 Hagersville with 2:02 left in the third period. Hagersville played down a man on Ryan McLaren's roughing. Jesse Ross provided the assist. The Hawks put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Tavistock to score on any of its six power plays. Hagersville also got points from Hornby, who also racked up one goal and two assists. The Braves' offense rang up 44 shots on Hagersville's net. Tavistock was helped by Deven Kropf, who finished with one goal. Kropf scored 14:24 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Tavistock. Jordan Ritsma assisted on the tally. Matt Murphy rejected 42 shots on goal for the Hawks. Hagersville incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Tim Parker made 26 saves for the Braves on 29 shots. Tavistock incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
