The Hagersville Hawks' Derek Medeiros had a big offensive game, scoring five goals and contributing one assist in his team's 8-4 win over the Delhi Travellers. Medeiros' first goal came 6:05 into the first period. He then added goals at 10:25 into the first, at 16:42 into the second, at 19:04 into the second, and at 11:40 into the third.The Hagersville penalty box was a popular destination as the team totaled 11 minors and one major for 37 minutes in penalty time. The Hawks had been averaging 26.0 minutes in penalties per game. Hagersville made Delhi's goaltenders to work all game long, racking up 38 shots and forcing 30 saves. Nick Heath made 23 stops and Joe Drexler made seven. The Hawks surpassed their usual scoring output this season. Hagersville has scored at the pace of 5.1 goals per game during the current campaign. Hagersville also got points from Hayden Baird, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Nick Halliday also scored for Hagersville. Other players who recorded assists for Hagersville were Deacan Krause, who had one and Eric Drehmer, Brad Hornby, and Jesse Ross, who each chipped in two. The Travellers put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Hawks to score on any of their seven power plays. Delhi kept Hagersville's goalie busy throughout the game, and Matt Murphy made 29 saves on 33 shots. The Travellers were helped by Taylor Hockley, who finished with one goal. Hockley scored on the power play 2:08 into the first period to make the score 1-1. A fighting (aggressor) penalty on Rob Clause had put Delhi on the power play. Travis Harper provided the assist. Delhi additionally got points from Harper, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Delhi also got a goal from Kelsey Vanyermen as well. In addition, Delhi received assists from Harrison McRobert, Brad Ward, Darren Pye, and Colin VanDale, who contributed one a piece. For the Hawks, Hornby and Clause were ejected from the contest. The Travellers incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
