The Hagersville Hawks tried their best to erase a two-goal deficit, but the Burford Bulldogs would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 4-3.

A goal by Tyler MacLaughlin put Burford up 4-2 in the third period, but Hagersville pulled to within one on Brad Hornby's tally 19:02 into the third period.

The Hawks' power play was ineffective against the Bulldogs' penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded.

Burford had trouble converting on the power play advantage, managing just one goal on nine chances.

Burford additionally got points from Jim Salatas, who also grabbed one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Kyle Chaney also scored for Burford. Davis recorded 30 saves for the Bulldogs. Burford ended with 25 minutes in penalty time with 10 minors and one major. For the Bulldogs, Blaise Burtnick was ejected from the game. The Hawks' Justin Paccheco stopped 17 shots out of the 21 that he faced. Hagersville ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Hayden Baird was ejected from the game.
