West nets hat trick, leads Lambeth to 8-0 win over North Middlesex

Nick West lifted the Lambeth Lancers to an 8-0 victory with a hat trick against the North Middlesex Stars.

West's first goal came 7:17 into the first period. He then added goals at 9:53 into the second and at 18:13 into the third.

Lambeth's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three North Middlesex power plays. The Lancers' defense was surprisingly good. Lambeth allows 2.2 goals per game. The Lancers' offense rang up 38 shots on North Middlesex's net. Lambeth bested its season scoring average. The Lancers have scored at the pace of 5.5 goals per game during the current campaign.

Lambeth additionally got points from Mitch Thomas, who also finished with two goals and one assist. Others who scored for Lambeth included Dale Morningstar, who had one and Cleo Gubbels, who had two. More assists for Lambeth came via Mike Golinowski, who had two, Nick North, who had four, and Carter Allen, Josh Bumpus, Mitch Furlonger, Warren Hargraves, and Riley Gilmore, who each chipped in one.

The Stars were held below their usual level of production. North Middlesex puts an average of 2.8 pucks into the net per game.

JP Trudell recorded 18 saves for Lambeth. The Lancers incurred 26 minutes in penalty time with three minors. Lambeth ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Kyle Huston was ejected from the game. Ryan Swartzentruber made 30 saves for the Stars on 38 shots. North Middlesex incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
