Exeter rips Dorchester, 4-1South Huron Rec Centre Fri, Nov 02, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
The Exeter Hawks were firing on all cylinders against the Dorchester Dolphins, and when the final buzzer sounded Hawks emerged with a 4-1 win. Dylan Bedard had a great game for Exeter, netting two goals. Bedard found the back of the net 10:12 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Exeter and again while 17:14 into the first to make the score 3-0 Exeter. Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 9:37 into the second period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with three game misconducts. The Hawks put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Dorchester to score on any of its three power plays. Exeter got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game. Exeter also got a goal from John Kingma as well. Other players who recorded assists for Exeter were Conner Preston, Kalvin Thornton, Chiristopher Pfaff, and Cam Jude, who each chipped in one. The Dolphins racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with six minors and one major for 37 minutes in penalty time. Dorchester surpassed its season average of 28.0 penalty minutes per game. The Dolphins' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Exeter power plays. Dorchester could not produce up to it normal offensive output. The Dolphins average 4.2 goals per game. Dorchester forced the Hawks goalie Bryan Paolotto to work between the pipes, taking 43 shots. The Dolphins were led by Jacob Baribeau, who scored the team's only goal. Baribeau scored 15:41 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Exeter. Paolotto rejected 42 shots on goal for Exeter. The Hawks ended with 23 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major. For Exeter, Bedard was ejected from the game. Dorchester's starting goalie, Jake Fonti, made six saves and finished with the loss before he was taken out in favor of Alex Hutcheson, who stopped 14 shots. The Dolphins ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Brett VanDusen was ejected from the game.
