Dorchester falls to Lambeth in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

The Lambeth Lancers pulled out a 3-2 (OT) overtime victory over the Dorchester Dolphins on a clutch goal by Dale Morningstar.

Lambeth was led by goalie JP Trudell, who finished with 39 saves while allowing one goal. The solid play of Trudell will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 2.1.

The Lancers were sparked by Morningstar, who racked up one goal. Morningstar scored 1:08 into overtime to make the score 3-2 Lambeth. Kale Corbeth provided the assist.

Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 8:15 into the second period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts.

Lambeth put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Dorchester to score on any of its four power plays. The Lancers were held below their usual level of production. Lambeth averages 5.2 goals per game.

Lambeth additionally got points from Tanner Smith, who also tallied one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Lambeth also got a goal from Conor Chilvers as well. Other players who recorded assists for Lambeth were Brandon Robbins, who had one and Ryan Pennington, who had two.

The Dolphins excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. Dorchester's offense operated below it season average. The Dolphins put an average of 4.5 pucks into the net per game. Dorchester's offense rang up 41 shots on the Lancers' net.

The Dolphins were helped by Chad Brulotte, who had one goal. Brulotte scored 17:07 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Jacob Baribeau assisted on the tally. Jordan Fuller also scored for Dorchester. More assists for Dorchester came via Liam Gillooly and Brendon O Shaughnessy, who each chipped in one.

Lambeth ended with 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major. For the Lancers, Chandler Allen was ejected from the game. Alex Hutcheson made 24 saves for Dorchester on 26 shots. The Dolphins ended with 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major. Dorchester ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Chris Buckholz was ejected from the game.
