Thamesford survives Lambeth comeback, wins 4-3

The Thamesford Trojans survived a determined comeback attempt by the Lambeth Lancers on the way to a 4-3 win.

Thamesford took a 3-0 lead during the second period, only to have Lambeth storm back on a Mike Golinowski goal 11:08 into the third period to pull to one goal down.

The Lancers' power play was ineffective against the Trojans' penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

Thamesford stifled Lambeth's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Trojans kept the Lancers' goalie busy throughout the game, and JP Trudell made 37 saves on 41 shots.

Thamesford was helped by Andrew McLennan, who had one goal. McLennan scored on the power play 15:16 into the third period to make the score 4-2 Thamesford. A head contact penalty on Dale Morningstar had put the Trojans on the power play. Kyle Walker picked up the assist. Thamesford also got points from Walker, who also finished with one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Thamesford also got a goal from Dylan Black as well. More assists for Thamesford came via Judson Couture, James Toye, Ben Kirwin, and Adam Levine, who each chipped in one.

Lambeth did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Lancers average 5.4 goals per game. Lambeth forced Thamesford goalie James Champagne to work between the pipes, taking 50 shots.

The Lancers were helped by Warren Hargraves, who registered one goal and one assist. Hargraves scored 19:39 into the third period to make the score 4-3 Thamesford. Justin Clark provided the assist. Lambeth additionally got points from Nick West, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Golinowski, who also had one goal and one assist. In addition, Lambeth received assists from Kale Corbeth, who had two.

The Trojans' Champagne stopped 47 shots out of the 50 that he faced. Thamesford incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Lambeth incurred 24 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
