A hat trick by Derek Medeiros was the highlight in Hawks' 15-2 win against the Norfolk Rebels. Medeiros' first goal came 9:51 into the first period. He then added goals at 10:36 into the first and at 15:26 into the third.The Hagersville Hawks gained an early advantage, leading 5-1 by the end of the first period. Norfolk fell victim to a deadly Hagersville power play, which ripped the Rebels for four goals. The Hawks forced Norfolk's netminders to work between the pipes, launching 50 shots and forcing 35 saves. Jason Miller made 20 stops and Alex Tipping made 15. Hagersville excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in seven chances. The Hawks bested their season scoring average. Hagersville has scored at the pace of 5.0 goals per game during the current campaign. The Hawks could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 30 minutes in penalties during the game. Hagersville also got points from Eric Drehmer, who also grabbed two goals and three assists, Jesse Ross, who also tallied one goal and five assists, Mitch Green, who also racked up one goal and three assists, Hayden Baird, who also finished with one goal and one assist, Jacob Erwin, who also racked up one goal and one assist, Kyle Parsons, who also tallied one goal and two assists, and Aleck Boyd, who also registered one goal and two assists. Hagersville also got a goal from Jake Reichheld as well. In addition, Hagersville received assists from Chace Mitchell AP, who had three and Marshall Greenham, Emerson Chang, Brett Dykstra, and Ryan McLaren, who each chipped in one. The Rebels found themselves short handed often, totaling 35 penalty minutes and allowing 11 power plays. Norfolk was led by Nate Parker, who had one goal. Parker scored 13:51 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Hagersville. Andrew Patenaude assisted on the tally. Ryan Oatway also scored for Norfolk. More assists for Norfolk came via Chris Murray, who had one. Hagersville's starting goalie, Justin Paccheco, made 16 saves and finished with the win before he was taken out in favor of Alex Farmer, who stopped six shots. The Rebels ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Kevin Mummery was ejected from the game.
