Lambeth rips Exeter, 8-1

The Lambeth Lancers were firing on all cylinders against the Exeter Hawks, and when the final buzzer sounded Lancers emerged with an 8-1 win.

Lambeth got the win on the strength of a great game by Conor Chilvers, who had one goal and two assists. Chilvers scored on the power play 1:01 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Lambeth. A delay of game penalty on Josh DenOtter had put the Lancers on the power play. Tanner Smith assisted on the tally.

Lambeth was led by goalie Logan Ferrington, who finished with 26 saves while allowing one goal. The solid play of Ferrington will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 1.62.

The Lancers forced Exeter's goalies to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, taking 43 shots and forcing 35 saves. Paul Orlando made 19 stops and Bryan Paolotto made 16. Lambeth's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Exeter power plays. The Lancers' goal total was higher than their season average. Lambeth has scored at the pace of 5.9 goals per game during the current campaign.

Lambeth also got points from Mitch Furlonger, who also registered one goal and one assist. Lambeth also had goals scored by Cleo Gubbels, who had three and Brandon Robbins, Derek Courtney, and Mitch Thomas, who each put in one. More assists for Lambeth came via Justin Clark, who had three, Carter Allen, Ryan Pennington, Mike Golinowski, and Warren Hargraves, who each chipped in one, and Nick West and Nick North, who contributed two a piece.

The Hawks' offense operated below they season average. Exeter puts an average of 3.6 pucks into the net per game.

John Kingma also scored for Exeter. Other players who recorded assists for Exeter were Matthew McLellan, who had one.

The Lancers incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Hawks incurred 24 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
